Take payments
Choose how customers pay you online. The order amount goes to your bank account, less only the tax the law makes Tejas collect.
In the app: Reports, Payouts, Orders
Customers can pay you online by UPI and cards. They can also pay cash on delivery. Card details never reach Tejas. Customers pay on the payment company's own page.
What we fill in for you #
- Your business name, address and GST answer. From your GST number, when you have given it.
- Your business details. From Verify your business, which you fill in once.
- Your bank account. The one you gave when you verified your business. You never type it twice.
Your bank account, PAN and consents are given only by you. Nobody at Matih types them for you.
Defaults #
- Tejas payments is chosen for you.
- Cash on delivery is on.
- The business check can wait. Tap Later and a reminder waits in your Today list.
Change them under Advanced before connecting. For example, you can use your own Cashfree account or Razorpay Route (coming soon).
Steps #
- Open Settings, then Payments.
- Keep Tejas payments.
- Tap Start the business check now, or Later.
That is two taps if you check your business later. The checks take about 15 minutes, with your PAN, GST number and bank details at hand. For your own Cashfree account, paste the App ID and Secret key, pick Test and then Live, and tap Check connection.
Pick how you take online payments #
Open Settings, then Payments. The question is How do you take online payments? You have three choices.
| Choice | How it works | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Tejas payments | You finish KYC inside Tejas. You are a vendor under Tejas's Cashfree account, and every order's money goes to your bank account. This is the default. | A shop with no payment account yet. |
| Your own Cashfree account | You paste the App ID and Secret key from your Cashfree dashboard and pick Test or Live. The money goes from Cashfree straight to you. | A shop that already uses Cashfree. |
| Razorpay Route (coming soon) | You finish the same KYC inside Tejas. Every order's money goes from Razorpay to your bank account. | A shop that prefers Razorpay. |
Tejas keeps your Secret key locked. It shows only the last four characters and never shows the key again.
The money #
- Customers pay into your own bank account. Tejas's fee is billed separately on the monthly invoice and is never taken from payouts. See What Tejas costs.
- The payment company charges its own fee on each payment. You see it on every payment.
- A refund goes back the way the customer paid, even if you change your way later.
Change your way of taking payments #
Tejas first cancels your unpaid payment links. If one cannot be cancelled, Tejas stops and changes nothing. You can then try again.
Cash on delivery #
Cash on delivery is on from the start. The customer confirms the order with one tap on WhatsApp (coming soon). You can switch it off, or switch it off for a delivery zone.
Orders paid at the counter #
Mark them paid on the order. Counter sales are free of Tejas's fee.
Your payouts #
Reports, then Payouts, lists what was paid to your bank, order by order. Your accountant can read it.
To take online payments you also need to verify your business. You enter the details once.
