What Tejas costs

No monthly fee. Orders under ₹100 are free. From ₹100, Tejas charges 0.4% of the order, plus 18% GST, and 0.25% once your month passes ₹50,000.

In the app: Billing, Tax invoices

Tejas has no monthly fee. You pay only when a customer orders.

The fee #

Free under ₹100. ₹1 + GST on a ₹250 order.

For each order a customer places through Tejas, you pay:

  • Nothing if the order is under ₹100.
  • 0.4% of the order total if it is ₹100 or more, plus
  • 18% GST on that fee.

That is all. There is no cap and no minimum. Sales you ring up yourself at the counter are free. Amounts are worked in whole paise, rounded half up.

Cheaper once your month passes ₹50,000 #

Tejas counts the orders customers place through Tejas in each calendar month, in India time. Once they pass ₹50,000 in total, the orders that come after are charged 0.25% instead of 0.4%.

  • It only looks forward. The order that takes you past ₹50,000 is still charged 0.4%. Earlier orders are never charged again.
  • Small orders count. Orders under ₹100 are free, and they still add to the ₹50,000.
  • It starts again on the 1st. Each month begins at 0.4%.
  • A group counts together. If a group of branches is billed centrally, all its branches count together. A branch billed on its own counts alone.

Examples #

At 0.4%, from the start of the month until your orders pass ₹50,000:

₹100₹0.40₹0.07₹0.47
₹250₹1.00₹0.18₹1.18
₹500₹2.00₹0.36₹2.36
₹1,000₹4.00₹0.72₹4.72
₹2,000₹8.00₹1.44₹9.44

After ₹50,000 of orders in the month (0.25%):

Order totalFeeGST at 18%You pay Tejas
₹250₹0.63₹0.11₹0.74
₹500₹1.25₹0.23₹1.48
₹1,000₹2.50₹0.45₹2.95

For example, with ₹60,000 of orders so far this month, the next ₹250 order costs ₹0.63 + GST.

An order under ₹100 stays free at any point in the month.

What the fee is not #

  • Not a monthly plan. A quiet month costs nothing.
  • Not taken from your payments. Tejas's fee is billed separately on the monthly invoice and is never taken from payouts. See Take payments.
  • Not charged on counter sales.

Your bill #

You get one GST tax invoice a month. It lists the fee on each order. The fee is final on that invoice. Tejas works it out over the month's orders in the order they were placed, and leaves out any order that was cancelled in full before the invoice.

During the month, the fee shown on each order is an estimate and is labelled that way.

If an order is cancelled in full after the invoice, a credit note returns that order's fee. If it is refunded in part, a credit note brings that order's fee down at the rate that order was charged. The rates of your other orders are not worked out again. It comes on WhatsApp and email, and you can download it from Billing, then Tax invoices. If you have a GSTIN, it is on the invoice, so you can claim the tax credit.

The Billing page also shows the month so far, updated every day.

Other costs #

  • The payment company charges its own fee on each online payment. You see it on the payment.
  • A partner you switch on, such as a courier, charges its own price. Each partner's price shows on its card before you switch it on. You pay partners directly where they allow it.
  • WhatsApp charges for template messages sent outside the 24-hour reply window. Each charge has a monthly cap that you approve.

Every usage charge has a cap. An outside cost Tejas passes on is charged at cost, under a monthly cap you approve before you switch it on, ₹500 by default. You get a WhatsApp warning at 80%. At 100% paid sends stop, while replies, your site and orders carry on.
